Stephen, Corporate Operations Assistant
How did it start for you?
I joined the payroll department in Corporate Operations in 2009 after working in communications for a few years. At first I was concerned about my decision as it was quite a career shift! But by the end of the first week those concerns quickly disappeared.
What have you been involved in?
I was very fortunate to join the department at the start of a large project to improve the payroll system. Within my first year I was able to move around several of the teams and quickly learn and develop the skills and knowledge required to work successfully within payroll, and then join that project.
Since day one the role has always been varied as new technology and new ways of working have been constant. I’ve been fortunate to have had regular training and development to be able to deliver the right outcomes for my role and team.
How have you developed?
As a result of this wide knowledge and skill set, I’ve been able to get involved in many of the wider corporate projects alongside business as usual activities that impact all of Corporate Operations and our customers in the wider organisation. The opportunities I've had have been varied, rewarding and have given me a real sense of achievement.
