The Essex Pension Fund team have won two awards in the space of four months, recognising the fantastic achievements of the sixty plus strong team. We’re very fortunate we have a wealth of knowledge and experience which is due in no small part to our staff wanting to build a career with us.
LAPF Investment Awards 2022
The team attended the LAPF Investment Awards 2022 in December, which celebrate outstanding achievement in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). Featuring a judging panel composed of some of the most respected names in the industry, the awards are designed to recognise the best in the UK public sector arena and are a great way to celebrate achievement.
Fund Officers Sara Maxey, Head of Actuarial & Funding and Samantha Andrews, Head of Fund Investments attended the ceremony. They were shortlisted for two awards, Best Approach to Responsible Investment and LGPS Investment Strategy of the Year. We were all absolutely thrilled to learn the team had won the LGPS Investment Strategy of the Year.
Pension Age Awards 2023
Oliver Murray, Retirements Manager and Dan Chessell, Head of Fund Administrations and Operations represented Essex Pension Fund at the Pensions Age Awards 2023 in March. Pensions Age aims to reward both the pension schemes and the pension providers across the UK that have proved themselves worthy of recognition in increasingly challenging economic times. The awards cover all private and public sector UK pension schemes, so it was a huge achievement for the whole team to be recognised amongst their peers. They were shortlisted in two categories: Defined Benefit Pension Scheme of the Year and Best Investment Strategy. The team were thrilled and were honoured to be awarded the Defined Benefit Pension Scheme of the Year.
Essex Pension Fund is one of 86 pension funds which make up the LGPS. The LGPS is one of the largest defined benefit pension scheme in England and Wales with a fund value of over £340 billion.
