Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Hamelin Trust to recruit a Support Worker for their supported living service, Gowlands based in Rochford

The shift patterns vary with both full time and part time hours available and will require day, and weekend working. Shift times can be discussed at interview stage.

Hamelin Trust is a local registered charity supporting people with learning disabilities (including those with other physical and sensory impairments), providing person-centred care and support to adults and children through their various services.

Gowlands in Sutton Road Rochford is an eight bedded short break service providing a homely yet stimulating environment for the people we support. Set in five spacious acres, the site is a calm and relaxing space for all who work or visit there.

Experience working with people with learning disabilities is desired however training and mentoring can be provided if an applicant is successful.

As a support worker, you will provide a high standard of care and support to clients, promoting their independence and ensuring they have the best quality of life.


  • Supporting individuals on a one-to-one basis in a range of community settings as agreed
  • Ensuring that the personal values, wishes and aspirations of people are respected, and that people are supported in maintaining dignity and respect in all areas of their lives
  • Supporting people to access appropriate health and social care services
  • Delivery of meaningful, innovative daily activity sessions plus learning experiences to service users to maintain and develop an individual’s skills and assist them with achieving identified, agreed outcomes
  • Supporting people in all aspects of their personal care
  • Ensuring that the personal values, wishes and aspirations of people are respected, and that people are supported in maintaining dignity and respect in all areas of their lives
  • Candidates should have experience working with people with learning disabilities.
