Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Bluebird Resource Centre to recruit Support Worker for their day care centre.

Bluebird Resource Centre are looking to recruit both full time and part time support workers with set contracted hours. Shift times can be discussed at interview stage.

Bluebird Resource Centre are a small, family-run business that provides a day-care service to support Adults with Learning Difficulties, Physical Impairments and Challenging Behaviour. Their aim is to provide service users with a stimulating environment to achieve the independent living and life skills they require to reach their fullest potential. They provide several enterprise related workshops for their service users to gain a better understanding of a working environment, the value of money, interactions and transactions and the fulfilment of reaching a goal.

As a Support Worker with Bluebird Resource Centre you will be working with adults with learning disabilities which can be among the most rewarding of careers in support work. You don’t need a formal qualification as fully training will be offered however having an NVQ in a related subject like social care would be beneficial.

Good communication skills and working as part of a team is an essential part of the role but more importantly Support Workers will be kind and caring as well as engaging and supportive to adults with learning disabilities physical impairments and challenging behaviours. You will also be required to provide support to service users in a variety of settings including within the centre, community and at organised activities and shows.

COVID-19 considerations:

All staff members at Bluebird Resource Centre will be required to provide proof you are fully vaccinated or will be fully vaccinated before your employment starts. Bluebird Resource Centre follow strict guidelines to protect their service users against COVID-19 and staff will be require to wear PPE while providing support. This will be provided by Bluebird Resource Centre.

As part of employment should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
