We also have an additional opportunity in North Essex at our Family Centre in Clacton on Sea, The Clacton Family Centre

Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for a unique opportunity to develop your direct work, group work and assessment skills as part of one of our Family Centre Teams?

This is an exciting and rare opportunity thanks to the Covid equalisation funding where additional staffing has been allocated to the Family Centres.

The roles will be developed in accordance with each quadrant’s identified needs and will be evaluated for impact, eg in terms of reducing waiting lists, effectiveness of interventions, outreach to families who find it challenging to come to the Centres for work. A common theme in each location will be to work preventatively with young parents/parents to be who have been in receipt of social care services themselves in preparation for parenthood.

This an excellent opportunity to broaden your skills, take on a fresh challenge, as well as develop specialist practice knowledge.

The Family Centre staff carry manageable caseloads, receive specialist training, regular reflective supervision and work in a nurturing, supportive environment.

This is what our staff say about working here:

"Working within North Family Centres brings new challenges every day, it’s very different to being in a frontline team, the work is well managed, although there are often tight timescales to get things done! We get to co-work with others, including our fieldwork colleagues and other agencies such as Family Solutions. We also have the opportunity to specialise in chosen areas (mine are assessing parents with learning needs and working with people who have been involved in sexual offending.) I love working within a really experienced team who offer fantastic support to each other, I actually enjoy going to work and have a sense of pride in all the work we do."
