Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Bluebird Care to recruit a scheduling and rostering assistant for their home care service across West Essex.

Bluebird Care is a national home care provider, but their Essex offices are a locally owned family business, run separately to other Bluebird branches. Bluebird Care are committed to keeping elderly and vulnerable people living in the comfort of their own homes. They are a leading provider of person-centred care in customers’ homes, with individual care planning and customers’ welfare the centre of their culture.

Care Scheduler's are the cog of a care business, they manage staff’s rosters and ensure that the customers get continuity. Good coordination means happy customers and carers. Candidates will need to be flexible, adaptable, and fast forward thinking is key to this role. This role is for somebody who can deal with stressful situations and stay level-headed. You need to have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and be proficient on the computer.


  • Dealing with daily rota changes, job allocation and inputting customer information
  • Ensuring customer visits are allocated to a carer team
  • Correctly inputting carers' information into digital systems
  • Forward planning of rosters and organising team meetings and supervisions schedules
  • Answering phones and dealing with customers, professionals, and carers
  • Working together with other team members on other administrative issues or marketing events
  •  Taking the on-call phone on a rota basis
  • Updating training systems and updating calendars and staff files
  • Be willing to complete hands-on care as and when needed to ensure customers are supported

Please note as this is a home care role, applicants will need to have a full driver’s licence and access to their own vehicle.
