Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Calvern Care to recruit a registered manager for their home care service based in Chelmsford.

Calvern Care Ltd was established in 2001 and remains an independent, family-owned company serving individuals living in Chelmsford and the surrounding areas. At Calvern Care they provide domiciliary services to a wide variety of individuals with dementia, complex care needs, and physical disabilities. Their aim has always been to provide the highest standard of personal care and support to those living within the community.

The role would suit an experienced domiciliary care manager who is looking to take the next step in their career by introducing innovative opportunities working in an integrated way with health and other social care services across the area.

You will initially be supported by the current registered manager, as well as the assistant director for Transformation and support living and the quality and safety, finance, human resources, learning and development and commercial teams from Provide.

Applicants should hold a level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and have experience as a registered manager in a care setting.

Responsibilities :

  • Taking responsibility for the day to day running of Calvern Care Ltd
  • Ensuring that each service user receives person centred care appropriate to their individual needs
  • Implementing the requirements of the Care Act 2014
  • Leading and managing staff so they can perform their roles safely and to an outstanding level
  • Collaborating with local authorities, organisations, NHS and social support services in developing plans
  • Managing and maintaining records of case management activities.
  • Overseeing and monitoring the allocation of care workers to maximise efficiency whilst supporting them to maintain an appropriate work/ life balance
  • Assessing, accepting, allocating and processing new referrals for care and support promptly
  • Investigating complaints, taking appropriate action and reporting to Area Manager, Operations Manager, Safeguarding Authorities and/or the CQC
  • Managing recruitment, appointment and deployment of all staff and developing good communication with and between staff
  • Ensuring that care workers timesheets are received and processed weekly and that this is completed by head office deadlines
