Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Kingswood Care & Support to recruit waking night staff for their supported living accommodation ‘The Beeches’ situated on Canvey Island.

This is a part time role working three 10pm to 7am shifts per week.

Kingswood Care & Support was established in 1998 to support adults living with learning disabilities to lead full and rewarding lives. At Kingswood Care & Support they believe providing a person-centred approach is key to stimulating safe and meaningful lives for individuals. Those who live within their residential homes are encouraged to go to work, attend social clubs and cook and clean for themselves. Residents take part in several activities including ice skating, horse riding, bowling, cinema trips and holidays.

There are 5 homes supported by Kingswood Care & Support: Acorn House, The Beeches, Cedar House, The Oakes, and Willow Bay. The homes are occupied by a small number of residents living with learning difficulties or other complex needs.

As a waking night support worker, you will provide a high standard of care and support to clients, promoting their independence and ensuring they have the best quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  •  Supporting people in all aspects of their personal care
  • Light household duties i.e., domestic cleaning and laundry
  • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing throughout the night
  • Ensuring that the personal values, wishes and aspirations of people are respected, and that people are supported in maintaining dignity and respect in all areas of their lives
