Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting St Georges Ltd to recruit a carer for their home care service based in Witham and the surrounding areas.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week and will require day, night and alternate weekend working. Shift times can be discussed at interview stage.

*Please note the pay rate will increase to £9.70 per hour on Saturdays and £10.00 per hour on Sundays. Staff will also receive a mileage reimbursement at £0.40 per mile.

St Georges Agency are extremely experienced in organising home care in Essex, their care co-ordinators offer tailored home care options to ensure the best service is provided to clients. At St Georges they take pride in preserving the independence and dignity of those that need it whilst maintaining the highest quality of life.

All care assistants are trained by an in-house qualified trainer. All staff must achieve the Care Certificate as recognised by The Skills for Care Council with extra emphasis on medication administration and dementia care. Staff will also be supported to continue their training to achieve Diplomas in Health & Social Care should they choose to do so.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with personal care
  • Assisting with medication
  • Assisting with preparing meals
  • Assisting with shopping and day to day activities
  • Encouraging a model of self-care and service user rehabilitation
  • Record relevant activities in care plans
  • Ensuring all needs are met as outlined in each service users individual care plan

Please note as this is a home care role, applicants will need to have a full driver’s licence and access to their own vehicle.

As part of employment should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
