Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Maison Care to recruit a Deputy Manager for their care home, Avalon

The shift patterns vary, this is a full-time post and will require day, and weekend working (shared among the team). Shift times can be discussed at interview stage.

Maison Care, founded in 1990, is a specialist and residential provision for adults with autism and learning difficulties. Additional complex needs, health related needs and challenging behaviour supported. Our person-centred plans of care and support are based on the assessed needs of each individual and promote the principles of an ‘exceptional life’, raising aspirations and the feeling of self-worth.

Avalon is home to 4 service users and provides a thriving, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young people across the autistic spectrum can embrace their learning difficulties with innovative techniques including a multi-discipline therapeutic approach, which has led to a pathway of greater independence and development of skills. Families play an important role from the very beginning of the transition throughout their placement, we believe this contributes to the success of Avalon.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a challenging and complex environment with 18 months experience in a senior role capacity within the previous five years. As a deputy manager would you have;

  • A care management qualification or the willingness to undertake the identified Skills for Care qualification within six months of appointment.
  • Ability to take responsibility
  • Computer literate
  • Leadership skills
  • A self-motivated individual who is organised, flexible and caring.
  • An active team player but also able to work on own initiative
  • A good communicator
  • Committed to training and maintaining high standards
  • Full Driving license and DBS

In return you will be received full training and be welcomed by our supportive team who have a hands-on manager on site.

Note: ECC are advertising this role on behalf of Maison Care and if successful you will be employed by Maison Care.

As part of employment should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
