Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Hamelin Trust to recruit a cook for their supported living service, Gowlands based in Rochford

This is a part time role working 30 hours per week, shift patterns are 1pm to 7pm (some flexibility available) with some weekend working.

Hamelin Trust is a local registered charity supporting people with learning disabilities (including those with other physical and sensory impairments), providing person-centred care and support to adults and children through their various services.

Gowlands in Sutton Road Rochford is an eight bedded short break service providing a homely yet stimulating environment for the people we support. Set in five spacious acres, the site is a calm and relaxing space for all who work or visit there.


  • General kitchen cleaning duties- ensuring high standards of food hygiene
  • Preparing and cooking meals for 12-16 people
  • Adhering and preparing alternate foods to suit specific dietary requirements
  • Ensure food handling, sanitation and storage procedures are followed

Note: ECC are advertising this role on behalf of Hamelin Trust and if successful you will be employed by Hamelin Trust.

As part of employment should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate. This is an annual subscription, and you will be responsible for ensuring this is maintained. The cost of this will be refunded by Hamelin Trust.
