We are looking to recruit for three to four permanent positions based at The Hollies, Lavender House, Stanway, in Colchester.
The Hollies (CO3 0PG) is a children’s residential home that supports young people with autistic spectrum disorders, physical and learning disabilities, based half a mile from the A12 and Tollgate Centre Shopping Park and offering free on-site parking for staff.
We are happy to consider full time (37 hours) and part time (ideally 18.5 hours per week but we could be flexible on this) and are happy to have applications from candidates with, or without previous care experience.
For those candidates invited to be considered for the jobs the first stage of the process will be an informal meet and greet with the management team at The Hollies, Lavender House and is designed to give you an opportunity to visit the setting, meet the team and discuss the duties, training, hours and pay and would take place on the week starting the 11th July 2022 – we will try to fit in with your availability during this week. This would, if all parties are interested be followed by a formal interview – date to be confirmed.
Please note that the work pattern for this role will be on a rota basis. The setting is operational 24 hours a day and 7 days a week including Weekends and Bank Holidays as well as Christmas and New Year
For the Residential Worker role the earliest start time would be 6.45am and the latest finish time would be 9.30pm
Due to nature of this role and the need to meet the Ofsted regulations around the minimum age of a carer in an environment with children up to 18 years old, any applicants need to be at least 23 years old in order to undertake this post.
In-house training will be provided for this role, so it is a fantastic opportunity to start your career within children and families’ social care.
The salary offered, £22,822 to £29,688 per annum or £11.86 per hour to £15.43 per hour is made up of a basic salary of £21,531 to £28,008 per annum plus a guaranteed 6% additional allowance (£1,291 - £1,680 per annum) and also offers £36 per night for sleep in’s if worked and an opportunity for overtime.
As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
