As a Graduate Behaviour Change Officer, you’ll support delivery of projects, communication campaigns, reuse and recycling initiatives and partnership activities. The role is on the front line of waste prevention, recycling and environmental activities, delivering direct communications and interventions to the public.

We are seeking an organised and highly motivated individual to join our team and support engaging and innovative external campaigns and interventions that deliver lasting behaviour change.

What will you be doing?

As a Graduate Behaviour Change Officer, you will create engaging content for a range of communication channels in line with corporate and campaign branding guidelines. You will be responsible for day-to-day management and audience development for social media, website and electronic newsletter.

Your role will support delivery of interventions and monitor the effectiveness and impact of communications and activities. The Officer will ensure customer enquiries, information requests and transactions are managed to a high quality and within agreed timescales. Working in a project environment you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners.

About you:

Essential requirement for the role:

  • Educated to RQF level 6 (Bachelor’s degree), or higher in any discipline.
  • Advanced skills in written and oral communication. Confident in engaging with a broad variety of audiences via a range of channels and within brand guidelines.
  • Microsoft Outlook, TEAMS, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge and experience of using at an intermediate level. Understanding of other relevant software applications e.g. image or video editing or mapping software.
  • Competent user of social media channels (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) and scheduling platforms (e.g. Hootsuite). Experience of website editing using a content management system.
  • Experience in use of data management systems and analysis including analysing data from social media channels and Google Analytics.

Desirable :

  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area.
  • Experience of working in a political environment, skills in understanding and responding to different perspectives and taking a cross organisational and cross-partner perspective.
  • A broad interest and understanding of waste management, environmental issues and wider circular economy issues.

Interview details:

Interviews are scheduled to take place on 7th & 9th May 2024 at County Hall in Chelmsford.
